Willis George Brown

Obituary Condolences

Willis George Brown, 78, born May 17, 1929, to George F. and Opal Brown in Bayneville, Kan., passed away peacefully March 8, 2008.
After a childhood spent in Wichita, two years of service to our country in the United States Navy, and a year in California, Willis arrived in the El Paso area, where he raised his family. He spent more than 40 years working at White Sands Missile Range for NASA and ARMTE. He loved working on missile systems almost as much as he loved the desert he worked in.
Willis was a big Dallas Cowboy fan as well as a huge NASCAR fan. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Alamogordo and the Elk Lodge in Alamogordo, where he received the honor of Elk of the Year.
Those celebrating his life are his wife of almost 25 years, Joyce McGee Brown, of Alamogordo; his children, Phyllis Williams and husband Danny, of Houston, Roger Willis Brown and wife Kim, of Midland, Texas, Patty Sales and husband Gary, of El Paso, Texas, Mickey McGee, of Austin, Texas; and his sister, Barbara Sloan and husband Bill, of Wichita, Kan. Willis also has six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Willis will be greatly missed, but his legacy lives on.
Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Alamogordo at 11 a.m. Sat., March 15, with a reception following.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Betty Dare Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Alamogordo, or Alamogordo Home Care and Hospice.
Cremation will take place locally at PCS, entrusted to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
