Amy Seefried Obituary
Amy Seefried, 72, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Teton Post Acute Care & Rehab in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Amy was born July 18, 1945 at the L.D.S. Hospital near the Idaho Falls Temple in Idaho Falls to Albert Seefried and Jessie Jensen Seefried.
She lived in Wapello just a few miles from where her grandmother's farm was and after her father died, the family moved to her grandmother's farm on Weeding Lane. She attended school in Blackfoot and graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1963. After high school Amy attended Holy Cross Nursing School in Salt Lake City, Utah and graduated in 1966. Following nursing school she worked in Idaho Falls, Blackfoot, Rexburg and then in Arco.
When she was younger Amy was in the 4-H Program. She also was a candy striper at Bingham Memorial Hospital.
Amy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the primary and other various church callings.
Amy worked as a RN in the local area and taught CNA classes at the EITC and ISU.
In her free time she enjoyed spoiling her nieces, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She also enjoyed handicrafts such as sewing and painting. Her health had not been good for the last few years which hindered her activities.
Amy is survived by her brother, Albert J. (Carol) Seefried of Shelley; four nieces, Janell (Frank) Roberts of Shelley, Kathryn (Brian) Andreasen of Shelley, Sara Seefried of Clearfield, UT, Jessica Seefried of Shelley; and grandnieces and grandnephews, Heather Roberts of Clearfield, UT, Harley Wright, Tyler Wright, and Houston Wright all of Shelley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Jessie Seefried and her grandparents.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Blackfoot East Stake Center.
The family will meet with friends for one hour prior to the service at the stake center.
