Anglo Elias "Bud" Saxton Obituary
Anglo Elias "Bud" Saxton, 94, of Pingree, Idaho passed away Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017 at his home.
He was born Feb. 9, 1923 in Bancroft, Idaho, the son of Anglo Moore Saxton and Ethel Harbaugh.
Bud lived in Pingree most of his life but also lived in Bancroft, Idaho, Ogden, Utah and Wapello, Idaho and Moreland, Idaho for 16 years. He graduated from Blackfoot High School.
He served in the Army in Italy, France and Germany during World War II as a gunner.
On Nov. 22, 1946, he married Elizabeth Lorraine Polatis in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He loved the harmonica, guitar, reading, electronics, horses and dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Pingree; children, Dennis (Susan) Saxton of Emmett, Idaho., Ron (Sherrye) Saxton, LeeAnn (Norman) Bird, Tom Saxton, Lori (Kevin) Mecham, Leisa (Kelly) Cushman, Steve (Lisa) Saxton, all of Blackfoot and Mike (Lacy) Saxton of Chubbuck; brother, Thomas H. Saxton of Blackfoot; 29 grandchildren and 58 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Brandon Bird; granddaughter, Staci Saxton; and sisters, Marie Saxton, Helen Stevens, Violet Abercrombie and Vilate Saulls.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday, Dec. 30 at the Pingree LDS Church. The family will meet with friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29 at the Hawker Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
