Annie Lottie (Walker) Prouse Obituary
Annie Lottie Walker Prouse, 102, of Blackfoot, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015 at The Willows Assisted Living.
She was born December 15, 1912 in Shelley, Idaho to Albert I. Walker and Harriet Sharp Walker, the youngest of 13 children.
Annie grew up on the family homestead in the Grave Creek area.  She also attended school there in a one room log cabin. Her homesite was on Deadman, which still stands.
On February 26, 1931, she married Glen Prouse, they homesteaded and started a farm at Morgan's Bridge and later bought property in Blackfoot.  They spent the summers at the ranch and herded cows and sheep down to winter in Blackfoot.
Annie loved being a rancher's wife, working and caring for the livestock and her family.  She enjoyed hunting, horseback riding, rock hunting and gardening.
She is survived by her children, Gordon (Terry) Prouse of Blackfoot and Allen Prouse of Shelley;  fourteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, sisters, son, Kenneth A., granddaughter, Charoline Orders and grandson, Richie Prouse.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave.
The family will meet with friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
