Blake H. Patrick Obituary
Blake H. Patrick age 66 died at his home Saturday March 31, 2018 after battling prostate cancer for several years. He is survived by his wife Debra, sons Jack and Lucas, grandsons Mason and Vincent Patrick; two siblings, Jim Patrick of Blackfoot and a sister, Marianne (Jerry) Merrill of Rexburg, ID as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Helen Patrick as well as an older brother, Clay and a younger brother, Jon.
Blake was born on March 14, 1952 in Pocatello, ID. He attended schools in Blackfoot, graduating from Blackfoot High School in 1970. A year after graduating, he joined the Marine Corps with his good friend, Terry Jensen. They served honorably for their two year enlistment period.
On October 26, 1974, Blake and Debra Conan eloped to Elko Nevada. They laughed often about their reason for elopement stemming from the fact that Blake's mom told him he was capable of making his own breakfast. He thought it had to be better to have a wife that would surely love to cook breakfast every day.
The couple has two sons, Jack and Lucas. Together their family attended many sporting events, supporting one another. Blake and Debra enjoyed being together whether it was working on the house or in the yard or golfing, bicycling, hiking, traveling or spending time with their sons and grandsons.
Blake worked for Coca Cola, Eddy's Bakery and Hostess Incorporated. He started as a driver/salesman and worked his way into management, retiring after thirty five years of service.
Blake has been a real advocate in encouraging others to be proactive in colon and prostate screenings in the hopes that others can catch problems early.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Tory Hansen and team, from One Source and Dr. Adams and his staff from Teton Cancer Center for the care and attention given to Blake during his illness.
Blake's life will be celebrated in a graveside memorial service at the Grove City Cemetery, on Wednesday April 4, 2018, at one o'clock p.m. The family is being cared for by Hawker Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
