Cliff Dee Wells Obituary
Cliff Dee Wells was born May 29, 1946 in Preston, Idaho to James Greene and Deana Lowe Wells. The family lived in Preston until moving to Idaho Falls in 1961. Cliff graduated from Idaho Falls High School and attended Stevens-Henager Business College until being drafted into the Army in 1965.
Cliff served in Vietnam where he was Chief Officer Records Clerk, Saigon Command. After returning from Vietnam, he attended Idaho State University with a certificate from VoTech in Data Processing and a degree in Computer Science.
While attending college he met his wife Karen and they were married on Aug. 4, 1970 and moved to Blackfoot. Cliff and Karen had two children, Julie Wells and Jason Wells.
Cliff worked for 10 years for M.T. Deaton and Company in Pocatello as a Data Processing Manager.
He also worked for Burgraff Construction in Idaho Falls as the Controller and Office Manager. He then completed a course at Eagle Idaho VoTech in Network Technology. He also worked as a computer consultant and programmer for several companies in the area.
Cliff and Karen then moved to Woodland, Washington where Cliff worked for 14 years at Neil Jones Food in Vancouver, Wash. where he retired as an IT Director in 2010. Upon retiring, Cliff and his wife enjoyed spending the winter months at their home in Mesa, Ariz. and spent the summer months at their home in Woodland.
Cliff is survived by his wife Karen Garrett Wells, of Woodland, Julie Ann Wells, of Pocatello and Jason Greene Wells of St. Helens, Ore. and a granddaughter, Sarah also of Pocatello, Idaho. He is also survived by one sister Karen (Keith) Couch of Roseburg, Ore., and two brothers Ross (Laura) Wells of Idaho Falls and Van (Wanda) Wells of Shelley, Idaho.
Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, James Greene and Deana Lowe Wells Jensen and an infant sister, Sherie.
A celebration of Cliff's life will be held in Preston, Idaho on June 3 from 1-4 p.m. at the Benson Park Pavilion at 1st E. Oneida. Internment services are under the direction of Webb Funeral Home in Preston, Idaho.
