Daniel Conan Obituary
Daniel Conan, 84, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family.   
Dan was born January 16, 1930 in Pingree, Idaho to Emory Conan and Iretta Wadsworth.  He spent his childhood in the Pingree and Fort Hall area, attending St. Margarets Boarding School, and then moved to Blackfoot. 
On January 23, 1954 Dan married Ladene Gough in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They had eleven children together.
Dan worked in construction and at the INEL for 18 years before retiring in 1998.  He was a member of The Union of Operating Engineers 370.  He worked on the Pallisades Dam and on Interstate 15 and took pride in his work.
In his free time he enjoyed model airplanes, electronics and shooting traps with his family.
Dan was a member of the Catholic Church and was a faithful parishioner at St. Bernard's Catholic Church. 
Dan is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ladene "The Mamps" of Blackfoot; sons, Ernie of Blackfoot, Dan (Kathlene) of Pocatello, Kelly (Mary) of Georgia, Mike (Amanda) of Logan, Utah and Jamie of Blackfoot; daughters, Margaret Giannini of Blackfoot, Rebecca Cooper of Georgia, Dorothy Conan of Blackfoot, Sheryl (Steve) Lutz of Greely, Colorado, Julie Conan of Blackfoot and Melissa (Scott) Tatro of Nampa, Idaho; brother, Steven of Blackfoot, sister, Mary (Lee) Mathie of Blackfoot; 32 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Frank; sisters, Isabelle Hipwell and Marie Cavelstrom; and grandchildren, Casey Mulkey and Samuel Conan.
A viewing will be held from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Hawker Funeral Home.  Family will also meet with friends and relatives for one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
