Danny Retford Obituary
Danny H. Retford, 85, of Blackfoot, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the Bingham Memorial Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Danny was born August 5, 1930, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Daniel Retford, and Cornelia Branch Retford. 
He graduated from East High School in Salt Lake City, Utah, before attending the University of Utah. In 1947 Danny at the age of 17 chose to serve our country by joining the United States Navy. He was stationed in Hawaii. 
On December 17, 1952, Danny married Donna Joy Eatchel in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple.
For over 50 years Danny worked as a car salesman and dealer. He ran his own dealership, Retford Chevrolet and Cadillac, in Blackfoot.
Danny was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many callings as a counselor in the bishopric, young men's leader and he and his wife Donna served a mission together in Bolivia. In his free time he enjoyed; fishing, hunting, camping, and taking long drives with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; sister, Beverly Retford Herren; daughters, Sherrie (Denny) Jacobson, Peggy Jo (Jerry) Gallegos, Nilda (Steve) Williams, and Mariella Ruiz; son, Michael (Lorie) Retford; 21 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. 
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Cornelia Retford; his son, Daniel Verl; twin sister, Daneen Larsen; and great granddaughter, Hailey Jane Cotterell. 
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave, in Blackfoot. Family will meet with friends and relatives from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2016, and for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
