Darlene B. Jackson Obituary
Darlene B. Jackson, 88, of Blackfoot, passed from this earthly life on January 29, 2015 at The Gables Assisted Living Center in Blackfoot, Idaho.  Her wisdom, wit and smile will be missed by all who knew her.
Darlene Berger, the daughter of James Henry and Clarissa Christena (Curtis) Berger was born on November 28, 1926 at the Berger family home in Victor, Idaho.  Her birth completed the family of four half-brothers and three half-sisters.  She was lovingly nicknamed "Darlin' Dolly" by her father and family members.
Darlene met her husband, Robert Vaughn Jackson, at Ricks College and they were sealed for time and all eternity on November 14, 1946 in the Idaho Falls, Idaho LDS Temple.  To this union three children were born, a son, Robert David Jackson, a daughter, Jerrilyn Jackson, and another son, Dean Cameron Jackson.
Darlene was an unwavering faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  She held many positions in the Relief Society and Young Women's, as well as the other church organizations.  She was an accomplished homemaker who always had a meal ready for everyone at any time.  Her favorite hobbies were her family and service to others.  She unselfishly gave her time and love to help everyone.
She had a great love for genealogy and after her husband died in 1983, she served two-18 month missions at the Family History Center in Salt Lake City, UT.  During this time, she traced her lineage back to Old King Cole.  She then served an additional 18-month mission at the Texas Houston Mission.
She is survived by her sons, Robert David (Roxann) Jackson, of Blackfoot and Dean Cameron  (Aderianna) Jackson, of West Bountiful, Utah, her daughter, Jerrilyn (Paul) Tovey, 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; James Henry and Clarissa Berger, her husband, Robert Vaughn Jackson, her half-brothers, William James Berger, Frank Howard Berger, Horace LeRoy Berger, Harvey Donald Berger, her half-sisters, Thelma Clarissa (Stevens) Hansen, Elda LaRene (Stevens) Hill, and Evelyn Odessa (Berger) Motheral, and one granddaughter, Jessica Jackson.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 3, 2015 11:00 AM at the Thomas LDS Church, 1059 West 100 South, Blackfoot, Idaho.
Viewing will be held Monday, February 2, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Ave., Blackfoot, Idaho and again 1 hour prior to service at the Thomas Church.
