Dixie Yvonnne Trappett Obituary
Dixie Yvonne Trappett, 79, of Blackfoot, Idaho  passed away Monday, March 20, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 9, 1937 in Logan, Utah to Francis Bench and Genevieve Moon Bench. She lived in Springfield, Pingree, Rockford and Jameston and ultimately graduated from Shelley High School.
On December 2, 1955, she married Earl DeLayne Trappett in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served faithfully in numerous callings.  The most dear to her was for the past fourteen years she served as compassionate service leader. In 1971, she sang in a choir that sang at General Conference. Her life was dedicated to serving others and upon retirement she and her husband served two service missions for the church.
Dixie worked at Bingham Memorial Extended Care Facility for 32 years. She started as a CNA and later became the office clerk.
Her family was of paramount importance (especially grandkids and great grandkids), she loved being with them at their annual Yellowstone outing and all the other numerous camp outings and  BBQ's.
She is survived by her husband, Earl, of Blackfoot; children, Marsha (James) King of Rock Springs, WY, Vickie (Ronald) Thornton of Blackfoot, Kevin (Vaneta) Trappett of Tooele, UT, Robin (Henry) Johnson of Henderson, NV, and Chad (Cheri) Trappett of Blackfoot; brothers, DeLoy (Pamela) Bench of Perry, UT and Ned (Vicki) Bench of Burley, ID; sisters, Ester (Carl) Winkler of Blackfoot, Judy (Dana) Honeycutt of Tucson, AZ and Debra (Max) Webb of Moses Lake, WA; sixteen grandchildren and thirty three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law,  Lewis Stuart, sister, Pennie Balmforth, brother, Jay Bench and great grandchildren, Ashalynn Merrill and Jacob Johnson.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Blackfoot South LDS Stake Center on Riverton Road with Bishop Wes Potter of the Blackfoot 14th Ward conducting. The family will meet with friends on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave. and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be in the Grove City Cemetery.
