Donna Jean Holmberg King Obituary
Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Donna Jean Holmberg King, 82, of Firth, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016, with her loving family around her at her son's home in Heyburn, ID after a valiant fight against cancer.
She was born November 22, 1933, the second daughter of John C. Holmberg and Iva Dell Green Holmberg in Salt Lake City, Utah. Donna graduated from Granite High School. She married Elias LeDeal King, June 28, 1954. She worked as a switchboard operator for Mountain Bell and Litton Industries.
She had a deep love for horses since she was born. This love only grew as she did, and she rode and performed with the Silver Spurs Riding Club for many years before moving to Idaho. She then raised and raced quality Quarter Horses, being very successful with many of them. She loved doing things with her children and family.
She was a faithful daughter and served her Heavenly Father in many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Donna had a quiet grace about her, but an extremely quick wit. She was a devoted mother and wife and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her sisters, Pat Stevenson of Midway, Utah and Linda Service of Salt Lake City, Utah; four children, Kevin Ray King (Tami) of Firth, Cory LeDeal King (Vicky) of Heyburn, Stacy Leigh Vickery (Bret) of St. George, Utah, and  Edward Lance King of Concord, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Marvin J. Holmberg; and her loving husband, Elias LeDeal King.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at the Wapello LDS Church, 337 N. 200 E., of Blackfoot, where friends and family may call from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Burial will be in Grove City Cemetery.
The family would like to express special appreciation to the staff members of Intermountain Home Health & Hospice; Carey, Debbie, Connie and Mindy, for the compassionate care they provided.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorial contributions be made in Donna's name to The Humane Society to care for animals which she loved.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Rasmussen Funeral Home of Burley.
