Dorothy Farmer Obituary
Dorothy Aileen Wold Farmer, 90
Dorothy Aileen Wold Farmer, 90, of Blackfoot, Idaho, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away from this life on Monday, September 7, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.  She will be greatly missed.
Dorothy was born March 30, 1925 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Leonard Ephraim and Winnie Ray Craner Wold.
She attended schools in Wyoming, graduating from Torrington High School.  She received her associate's degree in Secretarial Training from the University of Wyoming.  It was while attending college in Laramie that she met John "Jack" Marshall Farmer.  She and Jack were married August 27, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and became the parents of seven children.  Her posterity now numbers 135.
In 1968, Dorothy and Jack moved their family from Sunnyside, Washington to Blackfoot, Idaho, where she has resided in the same home for nearly 47 years.
Dorothy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having given a lifetime of service.  She served as Relief Society, Young Women and Primary presidents.  She and Jack served three missions in Fort Hall, Idaho; Charleston, West Virginia and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
Dorothy worked at several banks and for many years as an executive secretary at the INEL.
She enjoyed reading, family history work, sewing, cooking and caring for her home.  Her family took pleasure in playing games and cards with their fun-loving matriarch.  Dorothy had the gift of making each child and grandchild think they were her favorite.  She and Jack loved to travel and could proudly claim they had visited all 50 states.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Michael Wold (Linda) Farmer of Sunnyside, Washington; John Curtis (Marilyn) Farmer of Centerville, Utah; Deborah (James) McFarland of Orem, Utah; David Wold Farmer of Montague, California; Gary Wold (Jolene) Farmer of Blackfoot, Idaho; Jennifer (Dan) Crites of Mesa, Arizona, and Janette (Walter) Johnson of Colonia Juarez, Mexico.  She is also survived by a brother, Leonard "Sonny" Wold of California and a sister, Thelma Perryman of Soda Springs, Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Blackfoot 2nd Ward LDS Chapel, 660 Teton Drive.  The family will meet with friends from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling and for one hour prior to the services at the church.  Interment will be in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery.
