Duane J. Sanders Obituary
Duane J. Sanders passed away unexpectedly in his home in Riverside, Idaho at the age of 54.
Duane was born on February 8, 1963 to in Pocatello, Idaho to Jay and Virginia Sanders. He attended local schools in the Pocatello area until he moved to Portland, Oregon where he learned the construction trade of framing with his brother Joe.
He returned to Idaho and worked for several local construction firms until 1992, when he started his own business "Duane Sanders Construction," which he ran full time until 2008. Duane then moved to MBA Construction, where he worked as Construction Manager. This career move meant he had to temporarily move to Texas.
Missing his family and his love of Idaho wilderness activities, he moved back to Idaho and began working for CM Company as a Project Superintendent, to work on a major facility upgrade for ICCU in Chubbuck.
First married in 1987, he fathered two children Brooke and Kyle. He later remarried in 1996 to Lanett Rogers. That couple welcomed their third child Shaylene into their home and the pair set about teaching their children a love of nature and the outdoors.
He was a proud grandparent and his children remember him as a kind, patient and driven father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Duane J. Sanders was an accomplished and generous man, with one of the quickest & most witty sense of humor you will find. He was dedicated to his family, and an individual who loved everything about the outdoors! Passionate about his Second Amendment rights, he was a responsible gun owner with a "dead-eye" aim.
Duane J. Sanders is survived by his wife Lanett; his three children Brooke (Jake) McSweeny, Kyle (Ramie) Sanders,  Shaylene; and grandchildren Blakely and Graham Sanders. Duane is survived by his sisters Sheri (Guy) Bliesner (Blackfoot), Laree Wellard (Pocatello), Lyn (Brady) Barkdull (Pocatello), Shelli (John) Cope (Terreton), Kathleen (Rusty) Jackman (Pocatello); one brother Joe (Robin) Sanders (Salem); Mother and Father in law Steve and Madelene Williams (Blackfoot), and brothers-in-law Keith (Misty) Rogers, and Kirk Rogers.
Duane is preceded in death by his parents Jay and Virginia Sanders; brothers-in-law Darrell Wellard and Steve Burtenshaw; brother Jay Lloyd Sanders, and sister-in-law Lynda Rogers.
