Edith Kendell Satterfield, 92, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Bingham Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center.
Edith was born on December 29, 1923 in Thomas, Idaho to Edith Irene Felsted and Artie Knight Van Orden. Edith came from a family of six sisters and one brother. She was an identical twin, and loved having a lifetime best friend. She attended school in Rockford and graduated from the Thomas High School. Following high school she attended school at the University of Idaho Southern Branch in Pocatello.
She married the love of her life, Max Kendell in 1942, and they were married for 59 wonderful years. At the end of WWII Max entered the service and Edith taught elementary school while he was away. Max passed away in 2001.
Two years later she remarried her old high school friend, Dallas Satterfield on November 21, 2003 in Elko, NV. The two of them enjoyed 13 wonderful years of marriage together watching baseball games, dancing, taking care of each other, watching classic movies and traveling.
Edith was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved serving for the church. She enjoyed reading her scriptures and the Ensign magazine. Edith and Max served a mission in Auckland, New Zealand.
She loved to water ski and was able to enjoy time on the water even into her 80's. She was a fabulous dancer and enjoyed dancing with her husband Dallas even in their nineties. Edith was an excellent seamstress. Edith had a love for the arts and attending plays and symphonies. There are many years of great memories of time spent up to the cattle ranch, that she was able to enjoy with her children and grandchildren. She was an excellent cook, and always made sure everyone had something wonderful to eat. She loved to travel and was able to visit many countries around the world.
Edith is survived by her husband, Dallas Satterfield; her son, Murray Kendell; her son-in-law, Dan (Stacy) Bolgen; her sister, LaJean (Jim) Johnson; brother, Alan (Sherry) Van Orden; her grandchildren, Cameron, Ben, Lauren, Seth, Luke, Ariel and Chase; and her great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Max Kendell; her daughter, Kristen Bolgen; her parents, Artie and Edith Van Orden; her twin sister, Ethel Clark; and her other sisters, Ada Castle, Eilene Martin, Lueta Larsen and Kaye Bowman.

A visitation will be held the night before Tuesday, September 6 from 6-8 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home in Blackfoot.
