Edna Peggy Wood Coburn, 83, of Boise, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017 in her home surrounded by family. She was born June 25, 1933, in Thomas, Idaho to Andrew Edwards Wood and Roetta Van Orden Wood. Peggy was the sixth of nine children.
While living in Idaho Falls, she met the love of her life, Hal Jeremy Coburn. Three months later they were married and sealed on Nov. 10, 1953 in the Idaho Falls Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
They were the parents of 11 children and happily married for 35 years. Hal unexpectedly passed on April 1, 1989. In 1995, she met and married her second husband, Jim Little.
During their 17 years of marriage, they enjoyed traveling and serving in the Boise LDS Temple. Hal and Peggy lived in Japan, Idaho, Utah, New Mexico, Illinois, Maryland and California. She had resided in Boise for the last 40 years.
Peggy was a wonderful woman, mother and homemaker. She was an active member of the LDS church, giving service in many capacities throughout her life. Some of the choicest opportunities for her came while serving her family, working in the temple and being a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. After her children grew, she worked in the Boise School District as a lunch lady. Students knew her as "the Pizza Lady." She was loved by many.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; and two sons, Bruce and David. She is survived by her sisters, Bernice Hoskins and Sylvia Wood, of Blackfoot; her brothers, Pete (Jackie) Wood of Tujunga, Calif. and Jonathon (Linda) Wood of West Valley, Utah; her children, Lynne Marie (Rick) Palmer of Jackson, Wyo.; Michele (Robert) Call of Colonia Juarez, Mexico; Hal (Patti) Coburn of Garden Valley: Pamela (Cameron) Carson of Thornton, Colo.; Kevin (Lisa) Coburn of Fayetteville, Geo.; Jeanette Gleason of Boise; Mark (Isabel) Coburn of Nampa; Brent (Karla) Coburn of Boise; Jennifer Coburn of Boise; 37 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 23 at noon at the Goddard Rd. LDS Chapel, 8620 W. Goddard Rd., Boise.
