Elaine Winston Obituary
Elaine Winston, 75, of Blackfoot, passed away Monday, Oct. 19, 2015 at her home.
She was born July 29, 1940 in St. Ignatius, Montana, to Alex and Ernestine Pelkey Lozeau. Elaine was raised in Montana; she attended Catholic boarding school. Elaine was a member of the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes in Montana.
Elaine married William Lloyd Winston on Nov. 24, 1977 in Reno Nevada.
Elaine worked as a housekeeper in Buffalo, New York and worked in home health care in Boise. She retired in 2006.
She enjoyed fishing, scrapbooking, knitting, crocheting, beadwork, talking on the phone, playing games on the computer, browsing Facebook, traveling and loved the outdoors. 
There was no such thing as a stranger, Elaine would engage in a conversation with people and they were instantly at ease and visited with her. Helping others was extremely important to her and she enjoyed the time spent serving others. She loved making friends, going to pow-wows and fairs.
She is survived by her husband, William Winston, of Blackfoot; her children: Harold Skookum of Northern Idaho; Jaylee Tendoy, Norman Adakai, Norbert Adakai, all of Blackfoot; Raymond Adakai, of Glenns Ferry, Idaho; Tina Marie Noren of Oakland, Calif.; siblings, Roseanna Yellowhair, Albina Burns, Gene Lozeau, of Polson, Montana; Harry Lozeau and Tina Lozeau; three grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Skookum; her parents and siblings, Levina Big Beaver, Darlene Heaton, Francis Lozeau and Terry Lozeau.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2015 at Grove City Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home, condolences may be sent to: www.hawkerfuneralhome.com
