Etta Hill Obituary
Etta Pearlena Hill, 73, of Blackfoot passed away peacefully in her sleep on Jan. 27, 2017 at Portneuf Medical Center.
Etta was born Aug. 5, 1943 in Pocatello to Ray and Lexie Virginia Sundstrom Parkinson. She graduated from Blackfoot High School, where she excelled in shorthand and secretarial courses.
Etta married Fred Hirning, whom she later divorced. They had one son, Fred Hirning Jr.
She and Dean Hill were married for a short time later and then divorced.
Etta will be best remembered for her devotion to her son, mother and family. She was a dedicated single mother and strove to give her son a happy life and the best that she could offer. 
Etta was also a  loyal and loving daughter to her widowed Mother throughout her life and was a caregiver to her mother in later years.
Etta loved have a beautiful yard with many flowers and an immaculate lawn. She enjoyed crafts, animals and visiting with neighbors and family.
Etta was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by her son, Fred Hirning Jr. of Blackfoot; brothers, Robert Parkinson of Groveland and James (LaVerne) Parkinson of Blackfoot and sister Phyllis (Don) Morgan, of Pocatello. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Lexie Virginia Parkinson; half-brothers, Donald Bentley and Marvin Harold Parkinson; brother, Royal Parkinson; sisters, Faye Hoehn and Rhoda Keele.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot. The family will greet friends and relatives from 1 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Groveland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Hawker Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses. Condolences may be sent to the family at :www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
