Evan E. "Butch" Morgan Jr. Obituary
Evan E. "Butch" Morgan Jr., 75, of Boise and formerly of Blackfoot, passed away July 25, 2016 in Boise, Idaho.
Butch was born November 26, 1940 at Blackfoot, Idaho, to Evan Edward and Mable Ailene Clarke Morgan. He was raised and attended school in Blackfoot, graduating from Blackfoot High School. Following graduation he attended California State University in Los Angeles, earning a Bachelor's Degree in business. He has lived in Blackfoot, Altadena  and Loomis, California and Boise, Idaho.
He served his country in the United Sates Marine Corps, earning the rank of Lance Corporal.
On December 18, 1964, he married Cheryl Joyce Taylor at Los Angeles, California. They were later divorced.
Butch was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He devoted a great deal of his time to genealogy research and collecting Boy Scout memorabilia. He was awarded the Silver Beaver Award for the donation of his time and effort given to the Golden Empire Council in Sacrament, California.
Butch worked as a salesman in the welding industry for 15 years.
He is survived by his children: Cherie Morgan of Peachtree City, Georgia, Darren Morgan of Fair Oaks, California, Russell (Emma) Morgan of Blackfoot, Renee Downer of Bolingbrook, Illinois, Seth Morgan of Lincoln, California; brothers, Glen Morgan of Groveland, DeLynn (Lila) Morgan of Blackfoot; sisters, Sherlene Hicks of Blackfoot and Debbie (Martin) Duchscher of Moreland and 14 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Evan and Mable Morgan.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at the Groveland Cemetery, under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family at: www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
