Evelyn (Sabin) Peck Obituary
To our angel mother, Evelyn Sabin Peck was born on a beautiful spring day on May 8, 1923 to Henry Elmer Sabin and Lillie Christensen Sabin.  She was born and raised in Salem, Utah.  She attended school and graduated from Spanish Fork high school in Utah.  
She had nine friends,( from 1st grade) that did things together and they called themselves the "Nifty Nine".  They were friends for life.  They were featured on KSL TV.  They have remained friends into their nineties and got together whenever they could.  There are only three remaining now. 
She excelled in type and shorthand and competed in many competitions. 
After graduating from high school, she attended LDS Business College.  In 1941, World War 2 began and she worked for government agencies as a stenographer.
She served mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Southwest Indian Mission and loved the people there.  At the completion of her mission she had the wonderful opportunity of working as Elder Spencer W. Kimball's personal secretary.  She helped type the manuscript for" Miracle of Forgiveness."
She loved to hike and camp.  She hiked Mt. Timpanogos several times.  She was a wonderful seamstress, loved to read, loved music, and especially loved people.  She worked hard and loved to serve others. She served in many leadership positions in Primary, Relief Society and Young Women's.  She loved the youth.  She had a gift of caring for others and making everyone feel loved.
She married the love of her life, Kenneth Earl Peck, in the Salt Lake Temple on April 19, 1957.  They have been married almost 58 years.
They have three children Donna (Ron Wilding), Debra (Dan James), and Alan (Susan).  They have 15 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.
She died quickly of an aneurism on February 21, 2015 at E.I.R.M.C. hospital at the age of 91, surrounded by her husband and all of her children.  She will be dearly missed and has left a wonderful legacy. 
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Peck of Rose, Idaho; children, Donna (Ron) Wilding of Rigby, Idaho, Debra (Dan) James of Salt Lake City, Utah, Alan (Susan) Peck of Pocatello, Idaho; brother, Marvin Sabin of Orem, Utah; and sister, Leora Brockbank of Salt Lake City, Utah; 15 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. 
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Lillie Sabin; brother, Dean Sabin; and a sister, Marie Sabin Ray.
Viewing will be Friday, February 27, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot, Idaho. Viewing from 10-11 a.m. at the Rose Church (Rose Exit North of Blackfoot, Idaho on I-15, head west on Rose Road).  Funeral will be at 11 a.m. at the Rose Church in Blackfoot, Idaho.  Interment will follow at the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.  Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
