Freeda Ruth Hobbs Obituary
Freeda Ruth Hobbs, 81, of Blackfoot, passed away Monday, Au.g. 8, 2016 at her home. 
Freeda was born Sept. 1, 1934 to Nephi Sterling Clements and Sophia Roth Clements in Rexburg, Idaho, the last of 12 children.
Freeda attended both grade school and high school in Thornton, Idaho. 
On June 2, 1951 she married Dean Hobbs, in St. Anthony, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on June 16, 1965. 
She has lived in St. Anthony, Idaho, Pocatello, Idaho, Declo, Idaho, Winnemucca, Nevada, and Blackfoot. 
Freeda worked as a seasonal worker during the potato harvest. 
Freeda was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was the original founder of the Rose Ladies Riding Saddle. She volunteered at the Dodge National Finals Rodeo, and was a dedicated mom and homemaker. 
In her free time she enjoyed playing sports, especially softball and volleyball, embroidery, crocheting, bowling, playing pinnacle and anything to do with horses.
She is survived by her son, Jerry (Ann) Hobbs of Blackfoot; daughters, Kirksel (Mike) Bird of Portland, Oregon, Carolyn (Richard) Haylett, of Winnemucca, Nevada; sister, Janet Purser, of Reno, Nevada; 15 grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. 
She was preceded in death by her husband Dean Hobbs; parents, Nephi and Sophia Clements; sons, Nephi Hobbs and Percy Hobbs; daugher, Scherry Thompson; and her other ten brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday, Aug. 11 at Hawker Funeral Home with Bishop Wes Potter, conducting. Family will meet with friends and relatives from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10 and for one hour prior to the service on Thursday all at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family online at: www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
