Gary Glen Scott Obituary
Gary Glen Scott, 77, of Blackfoot, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Bingham Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 29, 1938 at Liberty, Idaho, to Glenn William and Carmen Betty Steffensen Scott. He was raised in the Pingree area, attended school in the Snake River District and graduated from Snake River High School in 1956. Following graduation he attended Ricks College for one year. Gary has lived in Blackfoot, Sun Valley, where he worked at the hospital on the air conditioning, he also spent some time living in Caldwell, where he worked at St. Luke's Hospital on their air conditioning.
On November 28, 1975 he married Helen Sharee Villasenor at Blackfoot, Idaho.
Gary was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagle, where he served as president for 2 years in his local branch.
Gary worked as an auto mechanic, he owned and operated his own shop. He worked at the INL Site for two years and worked on heating and air conditioning for YMC in Bosie and Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Gary was a drummer, he played all over the valley and loved every moment he was playing. He loved music, fishing camping, hunting and the deep sea fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Sharee Scott, of Blackfoot; his son, Steven M. (Cynthia) Scott, of West Valley, Utah; daughters, Stephanie Rae (Norbert) Adakai, of Blackfoot, RaeMona Lyn (Benny) Stites, of Pingree; step-daughter Julie Sue Thompson, of Taylorsville, Utah; brothers, Clyde James (Verdean) Scott, of Idaho Falls and Blaine (Lana) Scott, of Pingree; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald E. Wolfley and Gary Glen "Scotty" Scott Jr., his parents and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 11, 2016 at Thomas 3rd Ward Chapel.  The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot and again for one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to: www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
