Gisela Margot "Stella" Roberts Obituary
Gisela "Stella" Margot Roberts, 90, born April 2, 1924, died of natural causes on November 21, 2014. She was surrounded by family at the moment of her passing.  Her loving daughter, Muriel, selflessly cared for Stella during the last years of her life. Stella was born in Bad Cannstatt, Germany. It was there that she met her future husband, Ferrel W. Roberts, who was then in the Army and was serving with the allied occupation forces in post-war Germany. The couple were married there on February 25, 1952, and moved to Blackfoot, Idaho shortly thereafter. In 1960, Stella became a naturalized citizen of the United States, one of her proudest moments.
Stella was a working mom and raised 5 children while employed full-time with various local businesses. She loved music and taught herself how to play piano, one of the few possessions she brought with her from Germany.  She was an accomplished gardener and kept the family fed with her fresh and canned fruits and vegetables, but her real passion was for flowers; she loved tending her roses.   She was kind to everyone and had a huge soft spot for birds and animals, in general.  Later in life she reconnected with her German roots while living in California.  She joined their singing group, performing with them throughout the Bay area with her new found friends.
Stella was preceded in death by her husband and by a son, Robert Brian Roberts. She is survived by her daughters, Muriel Lizabeth Roberts, Diane Margot Roberts and Carol Anne Roberts and her sons, Richard John Roberts and Michael Kent Roberts, ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
The family extends a special thank you to Jesse Scruggs and Access Home Care and Hospice who helped with the care of our mother during her final years.  Their caring and kindness will be remembered always.
There will be a private memorial service for family members and she will be interred next to her husband, Ferrel and mother, Lina Roming, at the Grove City Cemetery in Blackfoot, Idaho.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home.  Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.hawkerfuneralhome.com
