Ilene Woodbridge Obituary
Ilene Woodbridge, 83, died February 15, 2017 in Meridian, Idaho surrounded by her family. Ilene was born March 25, 1933 to Orlando and Mary Agnes (Mamie) White at home in Mackay, Idaho, the youngest of seven children. She attended public schools in Mackay.
During high school, she worked taking tickets at the movie theater, where she met her future husband. From 1952 to 1954 she worked as the bookkeeper at the Western Auto Store. She married Fred Woodbridge in 1952 and had two children, Fred and Marianne. They divorced in 1964. In 1965, she went to work at the Butte County Sheriff's Office, where she worked for 35 years as an Office Deputy. She loved her job and served under six different Sheriffs during her career.
After her retirement in 2000, she remained in Arco continuing many community activities; the Arco Lady Lions, Sorority Club, the Arco Baptist Church, and the polling station for Butte County. She moved to Blackfoot in 2009 to be closer to her family and thereafter to Meridian, Idaho in 2012. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially during the Christmas and Thanksgiving holidays. Ilene was a happy and independent individual not limited by her disability and always had a smile for everyone. She enjoyed her Pepsi and anything chocolate. She was an avid reader and enjoyed discussing politics, the news, and world events. She is survived by her son Fred (Sandy) Woodbridge of Idaho Falls, daughter Marianne (Robert) Mihm of Meridian, and grandchildren Sean Woodbridge of Eagle Creek, Oregon, Andrea (Rodney) Evans of Boise, Brian Mihm of Kuna, and Dustin (Toria) Mihm of Blackfoot. She is also survived by her sister, Anna May Fost of Boise, and great grandsons Logan Mihm of Kuna and Murphy Evans of Boise.
Services will be conducted Saturday, February 25 at 1 p.m. at Anderson Family Funeral Home, 2555 N. Highway 93, Arco, Idaho. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will be provided by the Baptist Church following the service and interment thereafter in Mackay, Idaho.
