Jacqueline Mortensen Smith Obituary
Jacqueline Mortensen Smith, 65, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at Safe Haven Healthcare in Pocatello, Idaho.
She was born April 2, 1952 in Salina, Utah the daughter of Edwin and Georgia Westover Mortensen.
She attended school in Utah and Idaho, graduating from Blackfoot High School. 
On April 8, 1971, she married DelRoy Smith in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They were blessed with 2 sons, Wesley and Wayland and one daughter, Alisha, 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. One of her favorite callings was ward chorister, she had a great love of music. She enjoyed crafting, making quilts for loved ones and friends, and getting together with friends and family to play games. She was the life of the party.
She spent most of her time working as a homemaker, but was also found working for Payless-Rite Aid Drug Store where she brought happiness to many who entered the doors. Running her children to different activities was first on her priority list. They were the love of her life. She was always first in line to help someone else in need.
She is survived by her children, Wesley Smith of Blackfoot, ID., Wayland (Angela) Smith of Moreland, ID; one daughter, Alisha Smith of Fort Hall, ID. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren along with brothers, Dale (Marolyn) Mortensen of Sugar City, ID, Ralph Mortensen of Blackfoot, ID and sister, Jewel Storer of Salt Lake City, UT.
She was preceded in death by her husband, DelRoy, his parents, Roy and Olive Smith, her parents, Edwin and Georgia Mortensen, sister-in-law, Lois Mortensen, and brother-in-law, Dennis Storer.
Her life was filled with many challenges but she lived it to the fullest and will always be remembered for her infectious laugh. The family would like to thank Safe Haven Healthcare staff for their love and care.
The family will meet with friend Wednesday, August 23, 2017 from 6-8 p.m at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot, Idaho and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Thomas LDS Chapel. Interment will be in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home.
