James "Kay" Findlay Obituary
James "Kay" Findlay, 83, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Monday, December 8, 2014 at his home.
Kay was born May 16, 1931 in Blackfoot, Idaho to James Roger Findlay and Grace Marie Walker. He lived his lifetime in Blackfoot, graduating from Blackfoot High School.
On July 3, 1958 Kay married Irene A. Serr in Elko, Nevada.
Kay worked at a movie theater, running the projector, was a baker, as a child worked on a farm in Fort Hall, did masonry work, and worked at Horrocks Concrete, RTP, and Monroe Cement Company for many years.
In his free time he enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, working with horses, raising cows. He was a drafter, and designed and built his house and also made his own cabinets.
Kay is survived by his son, Michael (Silvia) Findlay of Moreland; daughters, Debbie (Shayne) Dixon and Dixie Findlay both of Blackfoot; sisters, Lois Munson on Blackfoot and Nellie (Don) Reynolds of Aberdeen; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and 12 great great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Irene; and sister, Aileen.
A no host dinner and bar will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2014 at the Blackfoot Elks Lodge, 123 N. Ash Street. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Grove City Cemetery. Family will meet with friends and relatives for one hour prior to services at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot.
