Jay Byron Hardy Obituary
Jay Byron Hardy, 51, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Portneuf Medical Center of a heart attack.
Jay was born August 14, 1963 in Tacoma, Washington.
Jay enjoyed bowling, fishing, but most of all, spending time with his family and friends. He loved the Minions from Despicable Me and has quite a collection of them.
Jay graduated fro Blackfoot High School and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jay earned his Eagle Scout rank at age 16.
On August 27, 2012 Jay married the love of his life and his soulmate, Melody Lambertus in Butte, Montana. Jay loved Melody with all his heart and soul. He was always so excited when he was close to home and was able to spend his "reset" hours with her.
Jay loved making people laugh and everyone always walked away from being around him a better person. His personality was infectious. Jay's favorite place to be was with his family teasing his brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and his grandchildren.
Jay worked for Nonpareil Potato Processing as a security guard; he drove for Crete Carriers and was employed by Swift Transportation at the time of his death.
Jay was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Jay is survived by his wife, Melody Hardy; parents, Byron and Elizabeth Hardy; siblings, Tina (Darren) Bradley, Terry (Tracy) Hardy, Kathy (Juan) Tracy, Kelly Hardy, Jeanette (Jeff) Mosbrucker; children, Dustin Wright, Greg (Jenna) Polkinghorn, Krystal (Justin) Farrar, Scott Christensen; and grandchildren, Tyrian Wright, Kaylee Fuller, Kassidy Fuller, Kirrah "Squeeker" Hafer and Bently "Hot Rod" Farrar. He has many nieces and nephews who loved their "Uncle Buddy"; along with family friends, Channie Garrison, Kallie and Landyn.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herbert and Althera Hardy and Henry and Letha Eden.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 and for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Oakley, Idaho Cemetery.
