Jay Owen Wadsworth Obituary
Jay Owen Wadsworth, 85, of Wapello, ID passed away at his home on April 17, 2015.
Jay was born on March 13, 1930 in Chinook, Montana to Vern A Wadsworth and Blanch Annette Sessions. They moved back to the Blackfoot area and worked on various rented farms for a time before buying their own farm in the Shelley area. Jay attended and graduated from Shelley High School. 
After high school he started to work in construction, building some of the first buildings out at the INL in its early years. Jay eventually began working full time at the INL and worked as a diesel mechanic for 20 some years. After he retired from the INL, he focused on running his own custom hay business in addition to the family farm and dairy.
Jay was an inventor at heart, and was always working on some theory or some improvement for something.
Jay had a deep love for farming and horses. He was also an avid hunter and loved to have his family go with him on hunting trips.
Jay met and married Jewel Paulsen in 1953, purchasing the Island in 1961 and having eight children before divorcing. Jay then met and married, Cynthia Berg, adopting her three children and having two of their own before divorcing.  Jay then met and married, Jean Tilley, and continued raising her four children.
Jay was a loyal member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, with a deep conviction for his religion and its teachings.
Jay is survived by two brothers, Rex Wadsworth of Blackfoot, ID and Don Wadsworth of Shelley, ID; children, Twlonie Bullock (Kim) of Preston ID, Cindy Parris (Red deceased) of Rubbins ID, Annette Gerdes (Jerril) of Blackfoot, ID , Jaylene Branson (Mike) of New Plymouth ID, Kip Wadsworth of Blackfoot ID, Nanette Wadsworth Baker (Larell) of Nampa, ID, DeAnn Wadsworth Dyer of Portland, OR, James D Wadsworth, Janae Davis (Jason)  of Rubbins, ID, Jason Wadsworth (Sandra) of Blackfoot, ID; step children, Rosetta Brown Wood of Blackfoot, ID, Susanne Brown Dhal, of Pocatello, ID, Robert Crawford, of Kennewick, WA and Mike Crawford of Blackfoot, ID; 44 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents, Vern A Wadsworth and Blanch Annette Sessions and step- mother, Jessie Wadsworth, children, Dave and Debbie Wadsworth, Deniece Wadsworth Morrison and  Kenny Wadsworth.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at 11:00 am at the Wapello LDS 1st Ward, 337 North 200 East. Family will meet with friends the night before for a viewing from 7:00-9:00pm at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Ave. and again for 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. 
Interment will follow the service at the Taylor Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hawkerfuneralhome.com  
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Primary Children's Hospital.
