Jerrine Clure Obituary
Jerrine Clure passed away peacefully at her home in Sterling, Idaho, surrounded by the love of her life, Ron Wood, and family on Sunday evening, November 15, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. She was born on December 15, 1944, in Missoula, Montana, to Vernal Lee and Luella Hames. At an early age, she learned how to work hard, help support a family with nine siblings, and attended schools in various towns in Montana, Arizona, California, and Idaho.
In 1959, Jerrine married Ronnie Jones in Bakersfield, CA. They had two sons, Ronnie Wayne and Hobbie Jones who brought happiness and joy to her life. They were later divorced. In 1975, she married Kenny Clure in Missoula, Montana; she had a step-son, Mike Clure, and three other step-children. Kenny later passed away.
She was a very caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt; she will be missed by all her family and friends. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, 4-wheeling, camping, and she loved shopping at second-hand stores and finding bargain items. She especially loved the Mackay area where she went 4-wheeling on the Mackay Mine Hill and surrounding area. Jerrine was a devoted animal lover and loved her cats and the joy they brought to her life; she also loved little "Hopper", a toy poodle of her brother, Gary, and sister-in-law, Linda.
She held many jobs over the years picking potatoes, cotton, and apples; worked several years at the Carnation plant in Nampa, Idaho; drove long-haul trucks, and retired from Simplots potato plant in Aberdeen in 2002 after 11 years. She enjoyed her co-workers and made many friends.
Jerrine was a natural caregiver and loved caring for others. She appreciated Ron being her devoted caregiver and taking such good care of her for over 20 years.
Jerrine is survived by her significant other, Ron Wood; son Hobbie (Leeann) Jones, Hollywood, Florida; son Ronnie Wayne Jones, Tulsa, Oklahoma; step-son Mike Clure, Horseshoe Bend, Idaho; brothers George (Jan) Hames, Blackfoot, Idaho; and Jasper Hames, Portland, Oregon; sisters Melba (Delbert) Hellickson, Horseshoe Bend, Idaho; Bona Merrill, Atwood, Colorado; and Darlene Kidd, Darby, Montana. She was blessed with six grandchildren, one great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews who she loved to spend time with.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Verla Hames and Margo (Mike) Clure, and brothers Milan (Maryann) Hames and Gary (Linda) Hames.
At her request, no funeral services will be conducted. A grave-side memorial will be held in the spring in Stevensville, Montana, when Ron, the children, family, and friends will get together to celebrate her life.
