Jerry Lee Pruett Obituary
Jerry Lee Pruett, 70, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Jerry was born June 27, 1947 to John Calvin and Susie Gertrude Garrison Pruett in Lamar, Colorado.
He spent his youth in Colorado, attending schools in Westcliffe and Monte Vista, Colorado, graduating from Sargent High School in Monte Vista. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving from 1965-1980 in the submarine service. He was stationed in Connecticut, Saratoga Springs, New York, Charleston, South Carolina, and Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was honorably discharged as a Chief Petty Officer.
On July 26, 1972, Jerry married Carmen Antoinette Cambareri in Glenville, New York. They were sealed for time and all eternity exactly one year later in the Provo Utah Temple.
Jerry, Carmen and their three children moved to Blackfoot in 1977. He went to work for Argonne, then Battelle Energy Alliance  at the Idaho National Laboratory. While there, he took classes for nine years through the University of Idaho and earned his Bachelor of Technology degree. He retired from the INL in 2007, then worked part-time at the East Idaho Auto Auction.
Jerry became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1970. He served as a cub scout leader and finance clerk for many years. He donated a lot of his time and talent in serving others and making projects for many. He also indexed for genealogy.
He enjoyed traveling, woodworking and making scroll saw art which he would enter in the Eastern Idaho State Fair.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Carmen of Blackfoot; his daughter, Karen Pruett of Blackfoot; his sons, John (Paulette) Pruett of Blackfoot and David (Robin) Pruett of Puyallup, Washington; sisters Doranna Schaefer and Gracie (Duke) Thomas; brother Billie Pruett; sister-in-law Marie (James) Cahill; grandchildren, Chad (Susie), Carl, Kirsten, McKenzie (Brayden), Suede, Kailie and Cyan; great grandchildren, Kyler, Eliza, Ellany, Addison and Layla.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother John Carroll Pruett.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the 2nd and 11th Wards LDS Chapel (formerly the 6th Ward) at 660 Teton Road in Blackfoot. Family and friends will gather for a viewing from 6-8 p.m. at the church on February 9, 2018 and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
