Jerry Ray Harris Obituary
Jerry Ray Harris, of Blackfoot, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at his home.
He was born March 16, 1943 in Pocatello, Idaho the son of Milton Isaac and Carrie Verda Madsen Harris.
He was raised and attended school in Blackfoot, Idaho.
On June 2, 1965, he married Barbara Woodland in Blackfoot, Idaho, whom he later divorced. They had three beautiful children during their time together.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a long standing member of the Elks Lodge.
Jerry worked at JR Simplot until 1973, at which time he joined the Operating Engineers Union. He retired in 1999.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, working on cars, gardening, boating, riding 4 wheelers and going on road trips. He loved going to coffee with the boys and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by a son, Ray Harris of Blackfoot;  daughters, Vicki (Vance) Katseanes of Vista, CA., Julie Harris of Blackfoot;  four grandchildren, Kaz and Kali Katseanes, Austin and Connor Harris.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Glenn Harris.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave.
The family will meet with friends on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. and for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
