Jesse Roy Montague Obituary
Jesse Roy Montague, 64, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.

Jesse was born October 6, 1950 in Shelley, Idaho to Wayne Pascal Montague and Virginia Leona Adamson. He was raised in Blackfoot and graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1968.

After graduation, Jesse joined the United States Army. He was in the National Guard during Vietnam as a medic and sniper.

On July 14, 1972 Jesse married Miriam Louise Rigby in Rexburg, Idaho.

Jesse worked at Bannock Regional Medical Center, he owned the Blackfoot Ambulance Service. He retired in 2004 from the Bingham County Sheriffs Department where he worked through the ranks to Captain. He also worked at several different sporting goods stores. In his free time, he enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, fishing, wood working, building fishing rods, fly rods, fly tying, photography and training and showing his labrador retrievers in field trials. He also worked at Basic American Foods and at Otto Detmer's while in school.

He was a member of the Blackfoot Elks Lodge, and trap clubs, the Shoshone Indian Club and the Pacific Indian Club.

Jesse is survived by his wife, Miriam of Blackfoot; daughters, Jessica (Jim) Engle of Fruit Heights, Utah and Deedie (Lance) Martin of Blackfoot; brothers, Dale (Laura) of Blackfoot and Terry (Sheila) Idaho Falls; sister, Beverley (Boyd) Brown of Idaho Falls; three grandchildren, Kelsi (BJ), Braden (Tori) and Hunter; one great granddaughter, Paysilee; and "adopted son", Rod (Shawn) Mohler of Shelley.

He is preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Dr. M.F. and Miriam RIgby; brother, Richard (LaDean) Montague; and his best buddy, Magic (his hunting dog).

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot. The family will meet with friends and relatives from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 and for one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
