Judson Franson Obituary
Judson (Jud) was born to John Kevin and Linette Tolman Franson and was welcomed into a family of three older sisters and one older brother. From the beginning, he was the center of attention in our family. Those who knew him immediately recognized a character with a unique personality and the ability to endure the love of others, from close family members to complete strangers.
Jud was a terrific artist and Lego builder, amazing others with his talents that were constantly improving and developing to his own specific style. He loved to play outside with his cats and his new dog, Rusty, who was the joy of his last few weeks.
He was a great swimmer and loved to swim as often as possible and recently competed in the Idaho State Special Olympics, winning several awards.
In the summers, he always requested his special spot in the yard where he could dig a hole and play in the mud; while being washed off with cold, garden hose water wasn't a bother. Jud loved to grow pumpkins and had a special patch he shared with friends and neighbors every year. Some of his pumpkins were quite large and he was very proud of his work. He looked forward every year to helping in the family garden and was fond of knowing everything about bugs and weeds.
Jud had many struggles in life with his health. He was brave and strong in his adversity, accepting the treatments and would often say "never give up, never give up." He trudged along courageously to the end. He loved his caregivers, those who helped him in school, his church friends, and - especially his three nephews. Uncle Jud was the favorite.
Jud passed away at Primary Children's Hospital after his heart failed while enduring an epileptic seizure.
Jud was preceded in death by his Grandma Beth Tolman and Grandpa Rex Tolman; and uncle Mike Tolman.
Jud is survived by his parents John and Linette Franson of Blackfoot, grandparents John and Kathy Franson of Rigby, Great Grandma Eva Turner of Grover, Wyo., sisters Brittany (Scott) Sawatzki, Sandy Utah, Kimberlee (Tyler) Armstrong, Provo, Utah, Mataya (Kaleb) Klingler Pasadena, Calif., and brother K.C. (Jordon) Franson of Salt Lake City, nephews Stockton and Paxton Sawatzki and Landon Armstrong, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and several friends and neighbors.
Many, many people helped Jud in his life's adventure. His family is forever grateful for those who were part of his life and ours.
