Lance Shawn Edmo Obituary
Lance Shawn Edmo, 45, of Fort Hall, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 around 4:30 am following a sudden illness. Lance was born on August 3, 1970 in Pocatello, ID to Colleen Preacher Edmo and Theron "Tunny Man" Edmo.
Lance attended school at Fort Hall Elementary, he attended Blackfoot Jr. High, Blackfoot High School and he later graduated from Highland High School in Pocatello, Idaho.
Lance worked at the Trading Post as a courtesy clerk. He then started his long life career at Shoshone-Bannock Tribes Gaming operation where he was employed for 23 years. Lance started out as a Bingo Caller, Caller Supervisor and then became the Bingo Director. Lance enjoyed working with all of his co-workers and working with the patrons who frequented the bingo hall and casino. Lance then went on to work at the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes Elderly Nutrition Program as a driver, bingo caller and entertaining the elders during their activities emceeing their events. He was currently employed with the Shoshone-Bannock Gaming Commission as a Surveillance Officer.
Lance married Denell Broncho in 1994, soon after they had their first son, Kendall Mason Edmo. The moment Kendall was born, Lance exclaimed "The young prince is born!" For eight years, Lance took Kendall to every t-ball game, golfing and nearly every movie that was ever made. In 2003, Lance welcomed his second son, Bodhi Cade Edmo. Lance was the first person to hold him and never let go! Lance would often exclaim – Kendall is my heart, and Bodhi is my soul! The greatest gift he bestowed upon his boys was his unconditional love. Lance and Denell later divorced.
Lance had many hobbies and favorite past times he enjoyed basketball, golfing, volleyball, collecting comic books and action figures, movies and just spending time with his sons.
Lance is survived by his sons, Kendall and Bodhi Edmo of Blackfoot, Idaho; his mother, Colleen Preacher Edmo of Ross Fork, ID; brothers, Ladd R. (Merva) Edmo of Blackfoot, ID, Damon Edmo of Nevada and Tyrone Edmo of Boise, ID; God-daughter, Kalli Jo Edmo; nephews, Zane S. Fox, Hollin Fox and Trevin Fox; and special friends, Shawna, Talise and Ben-ami DeCola.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, LaMose Edmo Sr. and Jane Pongah Edmo; maternal grandparents, Homer Preacher and Daisy Snipe Preacher; father, Theron "Tunny Man" Edmo; brother, Danny R. Edmo; and cousin/brother, Donovan Teton.
The family will meet with friends and family from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, June 10, 2016 at the Eagle Lodge Gibson Community Center, 22 East Trouchot Rd #11, Blackfoot, ID. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 6 p.m. at the Hawker Funeral Home 132 S. Shilling Ave. Blackfoot, ID. A traditional giveaway will be held after funeral services. Lance will be cremated in accordance to his wishes.
