Larry Dwaine Caldwell Obituary
Larry Dwaine Caldwell, 77, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016 at his home in Pingree surrounded by his family from congestive heart failure.
Larry was born March 10, 1939 at Pingree, Idaho, to Lorenzo Snow and Laura Fern Carlile Caldwell. He grew up  on the family farm in Pingree. Larry attended school at Pingree, Thomas and graduated from Snake River High School in 1957. Following graduation he attended Ricks College for two years, then attended Brigham Young University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Husbandry in 1963.
On May 3, 1968, he married his sweetheart, Deonne Rice at Pocatello. Their marriage was solemnized on June 17, 1982 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Larry was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He fulfilled callings in the Young Men's Presidency, as a Primary Teacher, Ward Clerk, High Council and was a dedicated Home Teacher. He is probably relieved today to know he made it home without being made Bishop. Larry and Deonne thouroghly enjoyed serving together an 18-month mission at the Bishop's Storehouse.
Larry served as Beef Superintendent at the Eastern Idaho State Fair for more than 20 years and was chosen to be Grand Marshall for the State Fair Parade.
He was a lifelong rancher in Pingree. During his younger years he rodeoed and in later years was a avid fan. He enjoyed playing and watching all sports. Snake River has lost one of their greatest fans.  Larry loved his family and being involved with their activities. One of his favorite activities was helping his children and grandchildren in 4-H.
Larry is survived by his wife, Deonne of Pingree; his children: Jay (Betty) Ellis of Moreland, Debbie (Scott) Ranstrom, Laura Monroe, both of Pingree, Jennifer (Jeff) Belnap of Pingree; daughter-in-law, Barb Ellis of Pocatello; sisters: Vada Wheeler, Yvonne (Kent) Kunz, both of Phoenix, Arizona, Laverne (Dennis) Hamilton of Kuna, Idaho; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: son, Jeff, son-in-law, Dave Monroe; brother and sister in law Lyle and Ardith Caldwell and sisters and brother in laws: Merle and George Hone and Glenna and Calvin Goodwin.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13 at the Pingree LDS Chapel. The family will meet with friends and family on Monday, Sept. 12 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave. from 6-8 p.m. and again at the church on Tuesday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family atwww.hawkerfuneralhome.com
