LaVon Trowbridge Reed Obituary
LaVon Trowbridge Reed, 76, of Idaho Falls, Idaho passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016 at his home.
He was born Feb. 27, 1939 in Blackfoot, Idaho the son of George Trowbridge and Edith LaVerna Moon Reed.
He attended school at Wilson Grade School, Rockford and Snake River High School. He also attended Brooks School of Photography in Santa Barbara, Calif.
LaVon served in the U.S. Army Reserve in 1958 where he was on active duty for four years and four years as stand-by.
On April 19, 1968, he married Sybil Dian Cox in Woodville, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on May 14, 1983.  They made their home in Idaho Falls.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served as Sunday School President, in the Elders Quorum Presidency and as Scoutmaster.
LaVon belonged to various photography groups and clubs. He worked as a Photographer for KIDK TV station for 43 years before retiring. He also had a photography business where he taught the craft. The past five years he worked at Sam's Club as a door greeter.
He enjoyed sharing pictures, politics, fishing, movies and anything that pertained to history.
He is survived by his children, Eddie Reed of Marysville, Wash, Taylor Reed of Illinois, Kristine Karla (Brian) Jackson of Phoenix, Ariz, Michael Eric Reed of Idaho Falls, David LaVon Reed of Idaho Falls., Michele Ann Thiessa of San Diego, Calif, and DanYal (Philip) Anaya of Fort Worth, Texas;  brothers, Robert (LaFaye) Reed of Blackfoot, Shirley (Myron) Hudson of Idaho Falls, Marilyn (Khalil) Jones of Lake Havasu, Ariz, and Nancy Reeves of Pingree, Idaho;  21 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Dian, brothers, George and Ronald and twin sister, LaVerne Reed and granddaughter Macy Reed
A funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, Jan. 21 at the Boulevard Ward on the corner of 12th and Juniper in Idaho Falls. The family will meet with friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 20 at Hawker Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Jan. 21 at the church.
Interment will be in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Westmark Credit Union in LaVon's name.
