Leon Lloyd Obituary
Leon Lloyd, 82, of Blackfoot, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at The Gables in Blackfoot. 
Leon was born Sept. 20, 1933 in Weston, Idaho to William Earl Lloyd and Eva Weeks Lloyd. He graduated from West Side High School in Dayton, Idaho and went on to serve his country in the United States Army.
In 1968 he married Ann Petersen in Thomas, Idaho. They were later divorced.
He lived in Dayton, Preston, Riverton and Salt Lake City after the service in the Army, then in Grace for a couple of years, and then in Blackfoot and Rockford for 39 years.
He worked in auto body and as a truck driver for D&D Trucking for 33 years, from 1972 until 2005. He helped with the Teton Dam and was also a volunteer firefighter and with the ambulance service and drove a big fire tanker. In his free time he enjoyed western movies, anything with John Wayne, camping and fishing.
Leon is survived by his sons, Jason (Christina) Lloyd of Portland, Ore. and Joel (Candice) Lloyd of Blackfoot; brothers, Doyle (Shirley) Lloyd and Arvis (Loma) Lloyd; sister, Neva (Robert) Pead of St. George, Utah; and one grandson, Jared Lloyd.
He is preceded in death by his stepson, Jeffrey Lee Hulse; brothers, Leonard and Blaine Lloyd; and sisters, LaRee Gardner and Gloria Lloyd.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 25 at the Blackfoot West Stake Center,101 North 900 West. Family will meet with friends and relatives for one hour prior to services. Interment will follow at the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery.
