Lorraine N. Denning Obituary
Lorraine N Denning, 89, of Blackfoot, passed away peacefully at her home on January 19, 2016.
Lorraine was born on March 30, 1926 in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Joseph Eugene and Anna Myrtle Nielsen Hepworth.  She was raised and attended school in Blackfoot, graduating from Blackfoot High School.
Lorraine married John "Jack" Telford Denning of Iona, on September 1, 1946.  Later they were sealed for time and all eternity on July 9, 1957 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They have lived in Logan, Utah, Blackfoot, Boise and Iona, Idaho and Las Vegas, Nevada. Jack, preceded her in death in 2010.
Lorraine was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she has served faithfully in the Relief Society Presidency, Primary President and a teacher in the Primary, a scout leader, Temple Worker, Visiting Teacher and in the name extraction program.
She worked before and after her marriage as a telephone operator. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. 
Lorraine enjoyed crocheting, sewing, knitting, tatting and gardening. She loved flowers and liked having them in her yard. She was an excellent homemaker and loved caring for her family.
Lorraine was blessed to have four children: John (Denise) Denning of Las Vegas, Nevada, Gene (Ingrid) Denning of Blackfoot, Idaho, Kim (Joe) DeBlase of Idaho Falls, Idaho and George (Joy) Denning of Blackfoot, Idaho; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" Denning; her oldest son, John; a son-in-law, M. Joseph DeBlase; a great-granddaughter, Abigail Grace; her parents, her two brothers, Leonard and Neil, and her one sister, Anona Nelson.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Blackfoot East Stake Center, 1289 Mt. Putnam Drive in Blackfoot. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2016 at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot and again one hour prior to services at the church.  Interment will follow service at the Grove City Cemetery.
