Manuel Mansanarez Jr. Obituary
Manuel Mansanarez Jr., 80, of Blackfoot, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017 at his home.
Manuel was born June 4, 1937 to Manuel Marcelino Mansanarez and EmmaDean Curtis in Columbia, Utah.
He attended school in Utah and did his senior year in California.
Manuel was introduced to Vivian Diane Talbot by his sister Greta and they fell for each other after their first date. On October 11, 1958 they were married in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Manuel and Diane lived in California where they started their family of five children. In 1975 they moved to Blackfoot and have remained here ever since.
He worked as a concrete mason in California. He found his passion for painting when he moved to Idaho and worked as a Wildlife Artist.
In his youth he enjoyed boxing and was a two time National Golden Glove Champion. He loved horses and worked for a pro rodeo stock contractor and participated as a contestant in various rodeos in his younger years. He spent many hours with his boys at various race tracks training and racing horses all over Idaho and Wyoming. He enjoyed many hours fishing and hunting with his sons and grandsons. His greatest love was his family and spending time with all of them and making memories.
Manuel is survived by his wife, Diane of Blackfoot; sons, Mark (Laura) Mansanarez of Blackfoot, and children Brandon and Jennie, Tom (Robin) Mansanarez of Idaho Falls, children Callie and Anna, Mitch (Kelly) Mansanarez of Blackfoot, children Brock, Chase, Cole, Dylan; daughter, Euniece Mansanarez of Tuscon, AZ; brother, Boyd Mansanarez of North Carolina; sisters, Judy Settle of Idaho, Greta Andazola of Wyoming, Candice Ketchens of Louisiana; and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Mansanarez and parents, Manuel and EmmaDean Mansanarez.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Hawker Funeral Home. Family will meet with friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Grove City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at: www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
