Manuel Trujillo Obituary
Manuel Trujillo, 79, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Bingham Memorial Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation.
He was born July 4, 1938 in Clint, Texas to Alejandro Trujillo and Maria Mayñes.
Manuel married Guadalupe Ardondo. They had 6 children. They were later divorced and he married Gayle LuDene Hammer, who had two children. Together they had a son and a daughter. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on August 12, 1998.
He has lived and worked in Mexico, Texas, Montana, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah. Much of the work he did was hard rock mining, ranch work and field work. He received most of his education in Texas and later learned the trade of welding. He retired from Developmental Work in Blackfoot, Idaho.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He loved to be with his family and had a tender heart for babies. He enjoyed driving in the country and always wanted to own his own farm. He also enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by his wife Gayle of Idaho Falls, Idaho; children, Manuel Trujillo, Mary Walter, Lita McDanel, Penny Trujillo, Mike (Edwina) Trujillo, Patricia (Mark) Harrison, Juan (Amy) Trujillo, Steven (Nancy) Schellenberg and Susan Christiansen; brother, Ruben Trujillo, sisters, Isabella Rodriguez Cavazos and Patricia Trujillo.; thirty seven grandchildren, seventy four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Alex Trujillo; brothers, Jose Trujillo, Lorenzo Trujillo, and Lupe Rodriguez.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot, Idaho.
The family will meet with friends and family from 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 17, 2017 and for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
