Marian "Omar" Jacklin Obituary
Marian "Omar" Jacklin, 63, of Cedar City, Utah formerly of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017.
She was born Jan. 22, 1954 in Salmon, Idaho the daughter of Amos LaVarr Jacklin and Doris Marian Noble Jacklin.
She graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1972. She then attended Ricks College where she received her Associate Degree in 1974 and Bachelor Degree in 1976 from BYU and her Masters Degree in Archeology.
She had lived in Challis, Blackfoot, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Cedar City.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served  several years at Indian Branch, taught Sunday School, Primary and Young Women's, Scouts and stake Girls Camp.
She worked as an archeologist for 30 years for Dixie National Forest.
She enjoyed photography, music-played piano, flute, bassoon, banjo, guitar, bagpipes and bass drum, teaching youth at various camps and clinics, dutch oven cooking, loved diet Dr. Pepper and working on and with wildfire crews. 
She enjoyed the scouting program and helped numerous boys obtain their Eagle Scout award. She also earned the Second Miler award in Scouting, Distinguished Woman in Scouting award, five mentor awards in the last two years. She also enjoyed
She is survived by her sister, Dianne (Bradley) Adams of Blackfoot; nephews, Justin (Becki) Adams, Thad (Billie June) Adams, Patrick (Alycia) Adams and niece, Wendy (Daynon) Leavitt all of Blackfoot, Idaho; five great-nephews and 12 great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lynette Jacklin.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1 at the Mt. View Ward, Greens Lake Chapel, 1120 W. Greens Lake Dr., Cedar City.
The family will meet with friends from 9:30-11 a.m. at the church.
A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8 in the Groveland Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 3-3:45 p.m. at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot, Idaho prior to the graveside service.
