Martha Elizaabeth "Liz" Choate Obituary
Martha Elizaabeth "Liz" Choate, 74, passed away June 16, 2017 in Meridian, Idaho, surrounded by her loved ones.
Martha "Liz" was born January 2, 1943 in Vidor, Texas, to Charles Calvin Alonzo Choate and Vera Colleen Arrington Choate.
Liz was in her early teens when she moved to Blackfoot with her family. She attended school in Blackfoot, graduating from Blackfoot High School.
Liz started working at the Broadway Arctic Circle while in high school and continued working there for 30 years. At that time she went to work cooking at the INEEL for the next 15 years.
Liz was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed her calling as a visiting teacher and as Secretary for the Relief Society. 
Liz loved cooking, gardening and caring for others. She loved animals no matter who's they were, they were always welcome and received excellent care.
She is survived by her brother Lonnie (Valerie) Choate, her nephews: Christopher (Cindy) Lemon, Michael Lemon, Damon (Melonie) Lemon, Darren (Robin) Choate, Dustin Choate, and Jonathon Choate; nieces: Shelley (Mike) Robbins and Robin (Timothy) Williams and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Delores Lemon and baby brother Roger Dale Choate.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2017 at the Blackfoot 3rd Ward Chapel. The family will greet friend and relatives from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Hawker Funeral Home and again for one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Grove City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
