Max K. Anderson Sr. Obituary
Max K Anderson Sr., 73, of Moreland, passed away Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015 at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Max was born March 13, 1942 in Moreland, Idaho, to Lehi Roy and Larana Kendall Anderson. He attended school in Snake River School District. Max was a lifetime resident of Moreland.
On Sept. 19, 1959, he married the love of his life, Emily Deone Mecham, in Burley, Idaho. They made their home in Moreland, where they raised their three children, Max, Penny and Mindy. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS temple on Jan. 4, 1979.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Max served faithfully in various callings, including ward clerk to five bishops and as a temple worker.
Max was a mechanic by trade; he owned and operated Max's Service in Riverside and Moreland.  He loved work; he was never idle and was always willing to help others.
Max enjoyed camping and fishing with family and friends, riding motorcycles, going four-wheeling, golfing, and riding with Ed Martin while he would go out on his jobs. One of his favorites things was "payday" with his grandkids, where he would give them the change in his pocket.  Max was a great supporter of Snake River High School sports and a fan of the Utah Jazz.
Max is survived by his wife, Deone, of 65 years; his children: Max and Jean Anderson of St. George, Utah; Penny and Russell Smuin of Kaysville, Utah; Mindy and Cesar Flores of Hyde Park, Utah; sisters: Lila Adams of Moreland; May Adams of Rigby and Joy Martin of Riverside; 9 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers: Boyd, Dale, Ray, Bill and Ellis Anderson and 4 sisters: Verona Anderson, Ruth Byington, Gwen Ferguson and Leah Waddoups.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, 2015 at the Moreland LDS Chapel. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015 at Hawker Funeral Home and again for one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Moreland Cemetery.  Condolences may be sent to www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
