Melba Joan Buttars Obituary
Melba Joan Buttars, 82, formerly of Idaho Falls, passed away Monday, June 19, 2017 in Tucson, Arizona.
Melba was born on Aug. 14, 1934 in Moreland, Idaho to Ronald Glen and Elva Effie Dawson Norwood.
She lived in Idaho Falls after she graduated from Snake River High School for the majority of her life; with the exception of living in Moreland for a few years, as well as the time she spent with her daughters in Tucson.
Melba was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She was a realtor for 35 years, and owned her own hair dresser salon. She enjoyed oil painting, doing genealogy, playing Pinochle, snowmobiling, traveling with her family, and spending time at her cabin in Island Park.
Melba got an offer she couldn't refuse and left to rejoin her friends and family who have been awaiting her arrival. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Dale Buttars in 2013. Remaining behind are her children Frank Samargis, Debbie (Samargis) Shepherd, Nancy Harris, Julie (Harris) Turner, Lori (Harris) Arce-Torres, Penny (Buttars) Marriott, Melanie (Buttars) Forbes numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren along with friends and admirers.
Her life will be remembered and honored at 12 p.m. Saturday, July 8 at Hawker Funeral Home located at 132 South Shilling Ave. Blackfoot, Idaho. The family will meet with friends from 5-6:30 p.m. Friday, July 7 at Hawker Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service.
