Merlin Wilson Obituary
Merlin Wilson, 66, of Blackfoot, passed away Tuesday October 31, 2017 at his home. Merlin was born January 26, 1951 to George Charles and Wanda Clements Wilson in Blackfoot, Idaho.
Merlin grew up in Moreland and attended schools there, graduating from Snake River High School. He continued his education by taking automotive certification courses. He served in the Idaho National Guard.
He married Donna Marlene Walton and together they had two sons, Scott and Adam. Marlene preceded him in death on 2005.
Merlin worked as a front end specialist at Ogden's Tire Factory for 35 years. He was baptized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved fishing, working on cars with his boys, and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter whom he adored.
Merlin is survived by his sons, Scott (Tiffany) Wilson and Adam Wilson; his granddaughter Sophie Burroughs; and sister Karen (Rick) Stecklein.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents, George Wilson and Wanda Wilson Daniels; brother Melvin A. Wilson and sisters, Rhowanda Wilson and Vonda Wilson.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2017 at the Groveland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family at: www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
