Michael Shane Watt Obituary
Michael Shane Watt, 51, of Idaho Falls, Idaho passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015.
He was born October 25, 1963 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Richard and Diane Watt.
Shane attended Pingree Elementary School, Snake River Jr. High and graduated from Snake River High School in 1982. He then attended Ricks College and Utah State University, graduating with a bachelor's degree.
Shane was a hard worker, working with his Dad, Uncle Ron and Grandpa Watt from an early age, getting up at 4:00 a.m. to move pipe, chores throughout the day and more pipe moving at night. He also worked for Randy Thomas pulling petiall samples. Shane was also an avid reader.
Shane was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a member of the Ammon 26th Ward. In 1983 he served an LDS mission to Hartford, Connecticut.
On March 27,1986, he married Kammile Cope in the Idaho Falls Temple. To this union three children were born, Kasja, Logan and Paige. They were later divorced.
Shane began his employment with Potato Growers of Idaho. Later managing Liberty Produce. He then took employment with Patandon Sales and Marketing of Idaho Falls for several years. He was presently employed by Wada Sales and Marketing Group of Idaho Falls.
Shane was an avid cyclist, winning many medals. This year he would have completed his tenth year of competition in the Lo-to-Ja cycling race (Logan to Jackson)
Shane is survived by his parents, Richard and Diane Watt of Pocatello, Idaho; brothers, Kirk Watt and Darin (Janie) Watt of Pocatello; his three children, Kasja Watt of Pocatello, Logan Watt of Pocatello and Paige (Taylor) Lake of Blackfoot; one granddaughter, Bentley Lake as well as many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer and Margaret Watt and Graydon and Donna Tweedy.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at the Blackfoot West LDS Stake Center, 900 W. 100 N. Blackfoot, Idaho with President Tracy Hawker conducting.
The family will meet with friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2014 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot, Idaho and for one hour prior to the service at the stake center.
