Michael Wayne Stricklin Nowland Obituary
Michael Wayne Stricklin Nowland, 68, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away in an accidental death, Monday, August 8, 2016.
He was born October 8, 1947 in Boise, Idaho to Elvest Stricklin and May E. Dyett. Two years later his sister Diane joined the family. His parents then divorced, and he and his sister resided at their granparents house, until his early teens.
His mother then married Lloyd Nowlan, where they moved to the farm when he was 13. He loved to work with his stepdad Lloyd doing things on the farm. 
Mike was baptized in 1975 and then ordained an elder in 1976. His stepfather Lloyd legally adopted Mike later on in his life, and were sealed together in the temple, along with his mother May.
Mike married a lovely woman named Alice Marie who already had 6 children. They loved and adored Mike. They were married for 18 years until her death. 
He later married Laree Bradshaw where they were happily married until his death.
Mike loved to draw daises on just about anything and everything, along with his avid poems he used to write. He had a notebook in every nook and cranny to have available to write down his thoughts. He also loved to write and deliver his poems to his family and friends.
He throughly enjoyed the outdoors, riding his bike, and camping on Scout Mountain. He was a very loving, caring, humble man who loved doing things for others. He was a very active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by his wife Laree; stepdaughters, Bonnie, Carla, and Barbara; and many grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his former wife Alice; his parents; grandparents; stepdaughter Linda; and stepson Doug.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the Blackfoot 11th and 4th Church,520 North Shilling Avenue. The family will meet with friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2016 at Hawker Funeral Home, in Blackfoot and for one hour to services at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family online at: www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
