Nancy Loosli Jones Obituary
Nancy Loosli Jones, 69, of Thomas, Idaho, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 at Portneuf Medical Center from causes incident to a fall.
She was born December 1, 1947 in Rexburg, Idaho the daughter of Delbert and Betty Ruth Shepherd Loosli.
The family moved to Idaho Falls, in 1951, then later to Blackfoot.
She graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1966, then attended the University of Idaho in Moscow. While there she met and married Mike Johnson. To this union was born a son, JonPaul. They later divorced. She and JonPaul moved back to Blackfoot where she worked, putting herself through college, and earning a Bachelor's degree in Special Education, as a single parent.
Shortly after graduating, on June 4, 1977 she married Barry Jones in Blackfoot, Idaho.
She taught school at Moreland, Riverside, and Snake River Middle School in Thomas.
She devoted to her family.
She played piano in her younger years and encouraged kids to take music lessons.
She enjoyed art, music, painting, jewelry, painting, snow skiing, wearing and collecting hats and was a noisy cheering fan of her children's sports.
She was on the Idaho State Girls Debate Championship Team in 1964.
She was the oldest of seven children, five girls and two boys.
She is survived by her husband, Barry of Thomas, son, JonPaul (Lynne) Johnson of Pocatello and daughter, Erin (David) Roundy of Killdeer, North Dakota; siblings, Jeannie (Elwin) Conrad of Groveland, Kathie Loosli of Blackfoot, Delbert (Renette) Loosli of Blackfoot, Vickie (Bruce) Cottrell of Chubbuck, Laurie (Bently) Taylor of Idaho Falls and Travis (Hung) Loosli of Glenwood, WA; thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and daughters, Jennifer Krehbiel and Breezi Jones
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Thomas LDS Chapel with Bishop Steve Dalley conducting.
The family will meet with friends from 9:30-11 a.m. at the church.
Interment will be in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery.
