Naomi Rosalie Tibbitts Obituary
Naomi Rosalie Tibbitts, 73, of Blackfoot, passed away, Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at The Willows Assisted Living Center.
She was born June 22, 1942 at Pocatello, Idaho to Hanford Joe Myers and Wanda Irene Bingham Myers. Naomi attended school in the Lost River Valley, graduating for
Butte High School. Following graduation she attended Idaho State University. She was also involved with young foreign students in Nuclear Engineering.
She married Thomas Cowgill, they were later divorced. She later married Gordon Wesley Tibbitts and they were later divorced.
Naomi was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed assisting in Primary, Relief Society and visiting teaching. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
Naomi had the distinction of being the first lady to have a realtor's license in Blackfoot, she owned her own realty company, High Country Realty in Inkom. She also served on the State of Idaho Realty Board Affirmative Action Committee.
She loved traveling, painting pictures, sewing, swimming, flowers and being outdoors. Her favorite times were those spent with her family.
Naomi is survived by her children: James Eric (Gina) Cowgill of Houston, Texas, Michelle (Sam) King of Blackfoot, Idaho, Carla Skalicky of Idaho Falls, Idaho; grandchildren: Kyle (Jamie) Jenson of Portland, Oregon, Amanda (Mike) Deitrick of Lewiston, Idaho, and Alana Cowgill of Taylorsville, Utah; brothers, Edward D. Myers of Ogden, Utah, Gary Lee Myers of Mackay, Idaho and sister, Juanita Ann Shipley of Blackfoot, Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, William Charles Meyers.
