Peter Jesse Hult Obituary
Peter Jesse Hult, 81, of Blackfoot passed away peacefully on Saturday September 19, 2015 at the Willows in Blackfoot.
He was born on January 21, 1934 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Peter J. Hult and Virginia Steffenson. Peter went to school in Mackay and Arco where he met his beloved wife Norine June Techick. 
On April 11, 1953, he married his high school sweetheart Norine J Techick in Twin Falls, Idaho. He worked hard in the potato fields during high school to earn money for her engagement ring.
In 1954 he was drafted into the army and received an honorable discharge in 1956. 
Pete and Norine moved to Logan, Utah where he earned his degree in mechanical engineering. After graduation they moved back to Blackfoot and he began to work for the INL until he retired.
Pete loved the outdoors and especially loved to fish. For many years he would fish for salmon on the middle fork of the Salmon River. He would walk miles down a trail to get to the most difficult hole to fish He had a knack of catching fish when no one else could. He also loved fishing the Blackfoot River. He would ride his 4-wheeler to the river and spend the day.
Pete's grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant everything to him. He could be found holding the babies and he and Norine tried to go to as many activities as they could.
He is survived by two children, Lonnie (Scott) Amundsen, of Pocatello and Bart (Stephanie) Hult, of Blackfoot, four grandchildren, Tanda (Mccai) Phelps, Sheldon (Cassie) Walker, Schyler (Amber) Walker, and Sadi (Jay) Calhoun, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pete was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years Norine, his parents, a brother, Lamarr, and sisters, Margaret and Lori.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 2015 at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave. Blackfoot, Idaho. The family will meet with friends and relatives from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and again for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Grove City Cemetery.
