Riitta Annele Christiansen Obituary
Riitta Annele Christiansen, 65, our loving, kind-hearted, and faithful mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend passed away suddenly and peacefully in her home after a courageously fought battle with pancreatic cancer on Feb. 12, 2017.
She was born in Helsinki, Finland on April 12, 1951 to Magnus Castren, later adopted by Delmar Phillip Johnson (since deceased), and her beloved mother Anneli Heino Johnson. She was preceded in death by her wonderful husband, Dean H. Christiansen, who surely embraced her at the gates of heaven.
There was no service left undone in her presence, she served others at every opportunity. She spent her life in service to her children, grandchildren and those she served in her church.
She loved gnomes, Finnish knick knacks, animals and reading books. Right or wrong was never a question for her. Her life, well lived, will forever be an example to her children and grandchildren whom she cherished, above all.
Annele loved to take care of her children and grandchildren and there was never a missed birthday, or event in their lives that she was not a part of. All she wanted was to make sure everyone was comfortable and happy.
She was happiest when surrounded by all her family. She loved working outdoors and enjoyed nature, if she was outside, she was happy. Annele was a talented artist and painted beautiful artwork. Heaven will provide her a beautiful landscape with Deano, Bruno and many other fury friends by her side.
Her friends and family would often refer to her as loving, creative, spiritual, giving, thoughtful, good-intentioned, hard working, dedicated, well-educated, artistic, huggable and strong.
Annele is survived by her children, Jeremy Dean (Chaconne) Christiansen, of Salt Lake City, Casey Christiansen, of Moreland, Idaho, Eric (Livvi) Christiansen of Blackfoot, ?Kamie (Tommy) of Moreland, Dane (Carissa) Christiansen of Blackfoot, Chad (Tashina) Christiansen of Moreland, Brother Steve Johnson of Centerville, Utah, sisters Liisa Oliver, Leena Bryant, and Lenette Casper of Salt Lake City, and mother Mirjam Anneli Johnson of Salt Lake City, and 11 energetic grandchildren.
We love you and will miss your welcoming embrace, your phone calls, visits and all the wonderful things you have been to all of us ... until we meet again. Heaven has gained one of earth's very best.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16 at the Moreland 5th Ward of the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 100 N 740 W, Blackfoot. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. Interment will be held in the Riverside/Thomas Cemetery.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.?Thanks to all those who cared for Annele through her illness especially family and dear friends. She loves you, thank you for loving her too.
